Doc. No. 73 Special report of the Board of Public Works [Ohio] relative to water rents on the Miami Canal, in answer to a resolution of the Senate.
March 4, 1843. The Senate had asked if water rents were charged for two mills at Lock 1, and if not, why not? Rents were charged for both mills
and paid promptly. One mill was using its rent to pay off a land purchase from the canal land, but as soon as that was completed, the rent would come
direct to the Treasury.
