Senate. February 23, 1843. The Senate sent six questions focusing on repairs to the Road. Former Resident Engineer Patterson sent p.3-7 and a table of
data up to September 15, 1842, "when my services were dispensed with." The current Resident Engineer, Mr. Yontz, began his employment on September 15,
1842, so he sent p. 8-14 of data, mostly listing labor contracts. The two men had very different ideas about how to care for the Road.
