Cincinnati and Hamilton Turnpike Company. Annual report, 1st (1840)-
**Doc. No. 92 First annual report and memorial of the Cincinnati and Hamilton Turnpike Company. February 17, 1840. The financial report was
first, followed by two paragraphs of explanation. The company needed a little more than $13,000 to break even. It had opted to metallize the entire road
so it would be usable in all weathers, so it asked to be able to apply all the tolls to that indebtedness. **Doc. No. 70 James Graham reported on
February 1, 1841: Report of the Cincinnati and Hamilton Turnpike Company. The Company still owed just over $23,000 to contractors. Bad weather had
led to expensive repairs. **Doc. No. 24 Report of the Cincinnati and Hamilton Turnpike Company. On January 11, 1845, Charles Cheney submitted the
report. The company had taken in over $37,000 in tolls and owed contractors $14,7776 for construction. Had repairs not been so costly, the company
would have been doing well.
