Wilmington & Raleigh R.R. Co. Memorial, 1844
December 10, 1844 Memorial from the stockholders of the Wilmington and Raleigh Railroad Company regarding the company's inability to pay the bonds of
1843 to 1845. The stockholder asked the legislature to authorize the endorsements of new bonds to pay off the old and future ones. In addition the
stockholders asked that the state appoint four directors, with the remaining six voted only by individual stockholders. (Digitized from a microfilm
