Newbern, 1775 May 31, Committee of Correspondence proceedings

May 31, 1775 proceedings of the Committee for Newbern, Craven County, in a circular letter to other committees in the Province of North Carolina. Also included was a letter from the Charlestown Committee, in order that the people be warned of the dangers between Britain and America. The Newbern proceedings noted the attack by General Gage and his troops on Boston. In addition, Charlestown noted that the British Parliament addressed the king to inform him that American was in open rebellion, and that reinforcement of ships and troops were sent to Boston to be under the command of General Gage.
