1850, Senate. Bill to enlarge powers of Wilington commissioners, 1850
1850 Senate bill, and Committee on Internal Improvements report recommending same, to enlarge the powers of the Commissioners of Wilmington. The
commissioners were given the power to subscribe 1,000 shares of capital stock in the Wilmington and Manchester Rail Road Company. Included in the bill
were the subscription and stock payment procedures. Of note, the memorial submitted by the Commissioners requested 100,000 stock; they were authorized
to purchase a tenth of that number. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
