1850 Dec. 10, Senate. Resolutions on the slavery question

December 10, 1850 Resolutions on the slavery question, which reiterated the wrongs done by the federal government TO the slave states, as well as the General Assembly's apprehension that the Fugitive Slave Act would not be enforced. Therefore, the Assembly resolved to tax all articles of merchandise from free states, but suspended same, pending the Assembly's next meeting and determination that the Fugitive Slave Act was being enforced.
