1850, Senate. Resolutions on slavery, 1850 Nov. 27
November 27, 1850 Senate Resolutions on slavery, which stated that North Carolina would accept the compromised laws which were recently passed by the
United States Congress in a spirit of patriotism. However, among several resolutions of similar manner, the Senate warned that the "faithful
execution of the fugitive slave law, in the free States, is necessary to the preservation of the Union." See LLMC #21651 for a related resolution.
