1696-07-02, Barring export of grain to the West Indies
Two copies of a July 2, 1696 Broadside issued by Gov. Benjamin Fletcher to partially repeal a prior ban on the exportation of various goods to the
West Indies and Boston until August 1697. This current proclamation, however, lifted the ban on exportation of some goods for an eight day period to
neighboring locations and then reduced the banned items to cornmeal and corned brisket. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by
the New York Historical Society Library c. 1); New York State Library (c. 2)).
