Two copies of an April 21, 1696 Broadside which sought to induce men to join the military by providing an incentive of three pounds upon enlisting for a year's service, and four pence per day paid above their provisions. Gov. Benjamin Fletcher proclamation served to enlarge the military numbers, which were reduced by death, sickness and desertion.
