1755-10-01, Soc. for the Encouragement of Arts, Manuf. and Commerce. Membership list
October 1, 1755 membership list of the Society of the Encouragement of Arts and Manufactures and Commerce of New York. Of note, this list was found
among the Colden notes, in manuscript form. The proclamation ordered sheriffs, constables and other officers of Albany and Dutchs Counties to
apprehend persons who kidnapped Robert and Johannes Vanduersen from their home, under the guise of a warrant for trespass. The basis for this issue was a
land dispute between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the New York Historical Society
Library).
