Speech of the Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief George Clarke, given to the General Assembly of the Province of New York on April 5, 1737.
Clarke addressed numerous recommendations regarding trade, revenue, and other matters. He also referenced the split in the assembly caused by a
division between Rip Van Dam and Clarke, after Governor Cosby's death in 1736, although resolved by Great Britain in Clarke's favor. (Source of digitized
