A copy of the March 1735/6 petition of the President, Council, the Speaker and some of the members of the House of Assembly of New Jersey to the
king, requesting a separate governor following the death of Gov. Cosby. A copy was given to the the Secretary of State and another filed at the Council
Office on May 11, 1735/6.
Title:   A copy of the petition of the president, Council, the speaker and some of the members of the House of Assembly of New-Jersey, to His Majesty, for a separate governor, on the death of Col. Cosby : Given to His Grace the Duke of New-Castle, secretary of state, and a duplicate thereof lodged on the Council Office, the 11th of May, 1736, by Richard Patridge, agent for the said province.
