Report of the Joint Select Committee to whom was referred the subject of African colonization, and submitted to the Connecticut General Assembly
during the May session in 1853. The report discussed efforts of the American Colonization Society send African Americans from the United States (with
their consent) to the western coast of Africa (Liberia). The report attached a proposed resolution allowing for a payment of $50 per emigrant to the
