Joint Select Comm. on Capital Punishment report, 1843
Report of the Joint Select Committee regarding capital punishment, which included consideration of citizens' petition to abolish capital punishment,
submitted to the Connecticut General Assembly during the May 1843 session. Disagreeing with the petition but acknowledging justice issues, the
committee attached two proposed acts that established procedures leading to executions, and delineated capital punishment crimes. (Digitized from a
