|
1844- Annual Report of the Connecticut State Colonization Society, and adopted on May 22, 1844 at the society's meeting. The report discussed the successes of bringing free African American people from the United States (with their consent) to the western coast of Africa (Liberia). Of note, the report also discussed the reasons why the society did not "elevate" blacks in the United States. The report also contained a constitution for the society. See LLMC #20209 and 20198 for related documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Connecticut Historical Society Library).
