1787-02-16, Act describing disqualifications
February 16, 1787 Act which described what persons who might be guilty of treason against Massachusetts would be eligible for a pardon by the
governor. Included were the disqualifications to which the person would be subjected, including surrender of arms, limitation for three years to serve as
jurors, be eligible as a town officers and other restrictions. Of note, Shay's Rebellion was an armed uprising in Western Massachusetts in opposition
to a debt crisis among the citizenry and the state government's increased efforts to collect taxes. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
