1766 The Right to the tonnage, the duty of twelve pence per hogshead on all exported tobacco, and the fines and forfeitures in the Province of Maryland, which challenged the duties to be paid as proprietary fees to Lord Baltimore. Of note this letter from a "Gentleman in Annapolis to his friend in the country," gave a history of the various acts regarding Lord Baltimore's control of the colony.
