1867 Majority and minority of the Joint Committee of Ways and Means and Education on Council Bill 57, which provide for the issue of territorial
bonds and to provide for the establishment and maintenance of schools in the Idaho territory. The majority listed several amendments; the minority
objected as the bill would have a Catholic archbishop from Washington County establish and oversee the listed schools in Idaho. (Digitized from a microfilm
