Attorney General Opinions, 1875-
|

Official opinions of the Attorney General of Georgia: 1891/92–, series continues, plus three officially-produced index volumes covering opinions from
1945 through 1975. (The Office of the Attorney General for Georgia dates back to the provincial era, although in the early years it was more a
judicial than an executive office. In 1868 the Attorney General was made Legal Adviser to the Executive Branch and Representative of the State in all
criminal and civil cases. The first statutory requirement for publication of annual reports was enacted in 1881, although a few have been discovered going
back to 1875. The first report also containing opinions was that for 1891/92. Starting with 1963/65 the annual publication of the A.G. contained only
opinions. Note that this information, derived from the books, contradicts the cutoff point in Pimsleur’s A.G. listings. The fact that in many of the
states there were differing patterns of publication for the A.G reports and opinions makes for a confusing literature. To minimize confusion in its
online offerings, LLMC has chosen to group all of the U.S. state attorney generals’ reports and opinions in two separate series for each state. For the
