These manuscripts consisted of journals and minutes of the Upper House in the General Assembly, during the time of British rule, with English
colonial governors in charge of both East and West Florida. Included in these minutes were correspondence from various governors, including Peter Chester
(West Florida), Patrick Tonyn (East Florida), and Commodore George Johnstone (West Florida). Early State Records group covers the period from February
