The Florida Constitution, along with ordinances and resolutions, as revised and amended at a convention begun on October 25, 1865 in Tallahassee.
This document was published in compliance of a resolution of November 3, 1865 by A. J. Peeler, the Secretary of the Convention and by the Office of the
Floridian. It was printed by Dyke & Sparhawk. Of note, slavery was "destroyed" by the United States government under Article XVI(1) under the title
of "General Provisions." (Source of the digitized copy: New York Public Library).
