Lower Colorado Region Comprehensive Framework Study. Appendix XIII: Fish and Wildlife (June 1971). Appendix was prepared by the Fish and Wildlife
Work Group of the Lower Colorado Region State-Federal Interagency Group for the Pacific Southwest Inter-Agency Committee, Water Resources Council.
Approximately 150 p., variously paginated. This typewritten report includes a Summary of Findings; an Introduction on purpose, scope and authority for the
study; chapters on status of fish and wildlife resources; future supply, demand and unmet demands (1965 base year and projected for 1980, 2000 and
2020); means to satisfy demands, including land and minimum water requirements; a comparison of Projections (Office of Business Economics, Economic
Research Service and modified OBE-ERS); program evaluation for Lower Colorado Region; and Conclusions and Recommendations, including state and federal
legislation re management of fish and wildlife resources, land management, water quality, environmental protection and other topics; and the need for
additional research. Chart and tables provide data on total water and land administered by federal agencies and Indian Reservations in 1965. Tables include
projections of supply and demand and unmet demand for sport fishing and sport hunting (big game, small game and waterfowl) from 1965 to 1980, 2000
and 2020. Maps depict Lower Colorado Hydrologic Region, a multi-state area that encompasses most of Arizona and parts of Nevada, Utah and New Mexico.
