Joint Select Comm. on Burning of Brenham. Report, 1866
September 28, 1855 Report of the Joint Select Committee to investigate the burning of a portion of the town of Brenham, in Washington County, Texas.
Various evidentiary documents and other documents were also attached in the committee's conclusion that soldiers from the fort were responsible for
the looting and burning of parts of the town and that the Major G.W. Smith and other soldiers were held responsible for these actions. (Digitized from
a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
