1849- Placer Times weekly newspaper, the first newspaper in Sacramento, California. The first edition was published on April 18, 1849, by the former
editor of Alta California, a San Francisco newspaper, Edward Kemble. He stepped down in June, 1848 and T.R. Per Lee became the editor. Included was
news, notices and various advertisements. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held the California State Library).
