Board of Public Works. Report on the Mad River feeder, 1839
Document No. 18 Report of the Board of Public Works to the House of Representatives on the subject of the Mad River feeder to the town of West
Liberty. House December 12, 1839. Was the feeder worth doing and how much would it cost? The Board of Canal Commissioners had considered this question
before and decided that three miles of canal and twenty-four feet of locks would cost between $36,000 and $44,000. It would not be a difficult
construction. Because it would connect with the railroad, it would be worth doing.
