Report of the Special Joint Committee on Levees to the Legislature of the State of Louisiana. Baton Rouge : J.M. Taylor, 1860. [An unfortunate
choice of font makes this report somewhat difficult to read.] On March 7, 1859, the Committee submitted bills defining levee districts. It also
recommended a $10,000 appropriation for a trial of a crevasse closing invention.
