1858 Minutes of the Leavenworth Constitutional Convention, in manuscript. Of note, this was the territory's third constitutional convention which
assembled in Leavenworth on March 25, 1858. In this version, the word "white" did not appear in this proposed document, and it would not have excluded
free "Negroes and mulattoes" from the state. Ultimately this constitution was not passed. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held
by the Kansas State Historical Society).
