Description and Holding Information
1870, Journal of the Constitutional Convention
Journal of the convention of delegates elected to amend, revise, form or make a new constitution for the State of Tennessee. The convention held in
Nashville from January 10-February 22, 1870. Of note, this constitution was a result of the requirement that all ex-Confederate states adopt new
constitutions explicitly banning slavery. Most of the remainder was similar to the prior constitution. Also included was an index of the the proceedings.
(Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
