1800, Address of the Council of Censors
Two copies of the 1800 address of the Council of Censors to the legislature on various matters. Of note, this council was established in the 1777
state constitution, and were to determine if the legislative and executive branches of government were properly performing their respective duties.
This message covered numerous topics, including deciding no constitutional convention was needed, taxing inequalities and other matters. (Digitized from
