Commissioners to Examine the Banks. Report on Citizens' Bank, Augusta, 1841
February 6, 1841 report of the Bank Commissioners regarding the Citizens' Bank in Augusta, Maine, transmitted to the legislature for review. Of
note, a correspondence from Daniel Pike was also included, in which he stated he was erroneously included as a director of that bank. The report
determined that there was a purchase of that charter, originally by Maine subscribers, to "foreign" purchasers, as found in an included statement of the
residence of stockholders. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
