H.R. No. 25 An At in addition to the acts relating to bail in civil actions, 1828. This act contained the accepted text for a bail bond which listed
the date and reason for arrest. If the bondsman, at some point, wanted to bring the person back to jail, he had to provide a copy of both the bond
and the writ on which it was taken to the jailor. Bail was not discharged until surety was given for the person's keep while in jail. (Digitized from
