H.R. No. 6 An Act relating to the attachment of real estate, 1828. A sheriff or constable who seizes real estate for a court has five days to give
all the particulars to the clerk of the town where the seizure took place. The clerk must make up a certificate of the transaction. He may charge
six cents to look at it and twenty-five cents for a certified copy. H.R. No. 36 An Act relating to attachment on real estate, 1828. A Sheriff or
similar officer had to respond to a written request to learn if, within the last three months, he attached real estate of the person listed in the
request and provide the particulars. Any officer who refused or falsified a certificate was liable for damages. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
