Senate. Act amending the serveral acts concerning depositions, 1827
|

SEE ALSO 51805 Senate No. 19 An Act in addition to the several Acts concerning depositions, 1827. If a suit was discontinued, but later reinstated,
any depositions that had been filed with the Clerk of the Court for the first case were still usable in the reinstated case. If any deponent had
been paid for his appearance and did not appear, he was liable for a summons and a compulsion to appear. If a deponent or witness refused to speak, he
could expect to languish in jail until he was willing to speak. Justices of the Peace could issue subpoenas to deponents and witnesses. (Digitized
