People of Massachusetts Against Samuel Blagge, Esq., Justice of the Peace ... for the County of Suffolk, together With Respondent's Answer. Boston :
True & Greene, State Printers, 1826. Blagge was accused, in painful detail, of creating certificates, that were likely like identity papers, for
several men whom he had not seen personally, which was and is not allowed. He was further accused of doing this fraudulently and being paid $1.00 for
each certificate. Blagge said he was not guilty and he could prove it and the House Committee said it could prove its allegations, so a trial was next.
