General Court. Act allowing executors to plead pleni administravit, 1824
In 1824, an Act was presented to protect the interests of estate administrators; s/he could plead plene administravit, roughly, complete
administration. If the administrator had posted notice for creditors of an estate and a creditor did not respond in a timely fashion, so that all the assets had
already been used to pay off other creditors, the tardy creditor could not exact payment from the administrator personally, nor could previously paid
creditors have to return any portion of their payout. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
