General Court. Act allowing executors to plead pleni administravit, 1824
|
|
In 1824, an Act was presented to protect the interests of estate administrators; s/he could plead plene administravit, roughly, complete administration. If the administrator had posted notice for creditors of an estate and a creditor did not respond in a timely fashion, so that all the assets had already been used to pay off other creditors, the tardy creditor could not exact payment from the administrator personally, nor could previously paid creditors have to return any portion of their payout.
