1897, Cherokee Nation, Memorial asking for removal of intruders
February 1, 1897 Memorial of the Cherokee Nation, submitted to the United States Congress, requesting the removal of intruders on Cherokee Nation
territory. After citing legal authority in treaties and orders from both tribal tribunals and federal commissions and courts, the delegation requested
that the United States force intruders to leave Cherokee land. A listing of these intruders and the money the Cherokees were forced to pay them was
