Journal of the Constitutional Convention of the State of Alabama held in Montgomery beginning on September 6, 1875. this constitution was considered the end of Reconstruction, and provided a very detailed, almost code-like constitution. There were limitations on government and it severely limited local governments in conducting their own affairs and prohibited works of public improvement.
