The laws of Michigan. Volume One.; City of Washington : A & G Way, Printers, 1806. There were a few pages of explanation about how the laws were made in the fledgling territory. A copy of the laws was submitted to James Madison, as Secretary of State. All the laws were created in 1805, signed by the Governor, the Chief Judge, and the Senior Judge. The laws began on p. 8, with a table of contents appearing on pp. 121-128, then an index on pp. 129-141. There were several pages of executive transactions, many of which were naming people to various positions. There was another small index after that.
