May 1, 1844 Report of the House Select Committee regarding the petition of Moses Emery and other citizens of Minot and Auburn, requesting that the
legislature petition the U.S. Congress to abolish slavery in the District of Columbia and U.S. territories, and against the annexation of Texas. After
consideration the committee proposed resolves supporting those positions. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library
