1849 Joint Select Committee report to consider the action of Congress seeking to repeal the act giving bounty to vessels engaged in the fisheries.
As the action would damage an important part of the state's prosperity regarding shipbuilding and fisheries. Several resolves followed the report,
with instructions that the stated senators and representatives in Congress attempt to prevent a modification or repeal of this bounty. (Digitized from a
