House. Comm. on Unlawful Logging. Report, 1839
March 8, 1839 Report of the Committee to determine if any member of the House had engaged in unlawfully cutting or abetting others to cut timber on
disputed territory. In addition, the committee exonerated House member Shepard Carey who was accused of going on a circuitous route to Boston in order
to actually go to the disputed territory. Finding no evidence, the committee determined this rumor was without foundation. (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
