Senate. Bill to suspend Act on circulation of small bills, 1838
|
|
1838 Senate bill, proposed by Mr. Greene, which was an amendment to the act to suspend for a limited time an act prohibiting the emission and circulation of bank bills in small denominations and a section of a another bill. This proposed amendment would suspend the act for two years and limit dividends, interest, and profits to stockholders until the bank resumed the payment of bills in specie.
