Senate. Bill to suspend Act on circulation of small bills, 1838
1838 Senate bill, proposed by Mr. Greene, which was an amendment to the act to suspend for a limited time an act prohibiting the emission and
circulation of bank bills in small denominations and a section of a another bill. This proposed amendment would suspend the act for two years and limit
dividends, interest, and profits to stockholders until the bank resumed the payment of bills in specie. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles
