Daveis, Report on aggressions by New Brunswick, 1828
|

January 31, 1828 report by agent Charles S. Daveis regarding acts of aggression against the State of Maine and its citizens by the Province of New Brunswick. This report, submitted to the governor and legislature, noted past history as well as instances of various trespasses and other issues by the government of New Brunswick. Daveis concluded that a portion of Maine was considered as part of that province and American citizens were being punished as a result.
