1776-Sessions Law from the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The first session was begun in Williamsburg, the then capital, on October 7, 1776 and covered matters as extensive as review all past laws to determine what is inconsistent with this new government, to increasing the reward for apprehending horse thieves. The sessions also include laws that occurred while Virginia was a member of the Confederacy. Of note, while some of the earlier sessions do not contain a table of contents and/or index, the latter ones do. (The Early State Record collection was digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
