1777? Act passed by the Virginia General Assembly which required all free male inhabitants of the state above fifteen years of age, except imported
servants during their service, be required to take a oath or affirmation before a justice of the peace to renounce King George and give allegiance to
the state of Virginia. A copy of the appropriate oath was included in the act. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
