1825, Grahame. Tracking and drawing canal vessels by locomotive
January 8, 1825 Letter from Thomas Grahame of Whitehill, near Glasgow, Scotland, to the proprietors canal and river navigation companies in Great
Britain and Ireland, which was forwarded to the governor. Grahame suggested the use of locomotives to track and draw canal vessels; he transmitted
copies of this letter in hopes to have canals and river navigation companies utilize his suggested improvements. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
