1865, James R. & Kanawha Co. Memorial requesting revival of the Va. Canal Co. Act
December 20, 1865 Memorial from Thomas H. Ellis, President of the James River and Kanawha Company seeking to revive an earlier act of incorporation
from March 29, 1861; a one year extension to organized the company; and an extension on the time to complete the proposed Virginia Canal. Included in
this document was correspondence between the James River and Kanawha Company and E. Bellot des Minieres, as this project was to be purchased by the
