1864, Constitutional Convention at Alexandria
Journal of the 1864 Constitutional Convention held at Alexandria, Virginia. Of note, a resolution for the abolishing slavery offered and accepted on
February 23, 1864 (page 10). Other resolutions included a provision allowing all white males of the age of twenty-one and above, with some residency
requirements, to vote, unless they held office or voted for or signed the ordinance of secession (page 12). See LLMC #22270-71 for a related
