Description and Holding Information
1775-03-20, Proceedings of the Convention of Delegates (1816)
Proceedings of the Convention of Delegates for the Colony of Virginia, held in Richmond from March 20 to March 27, 1775, and reprinted following the
February 24, 1816 resolution in the Virginia House of Delegates. Included was a resolution unanimously approving of the proceedings of the
Continental Congress (March 22, 1775), as well as various other issues involving government, militia, commerce, and other relevant topics. Significantly, a
resolution was passed to provide for a militia on the same and following days (March 23-24, 1775) as Patrick Henry's famous "Give me liberty, or give me
death" speech to the convention. See LLMC #22157 and 22159 for related documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
Library of Congress)
